1st Saturdays in Mount Victory

Join us on the first Saturday of each month this summer and fall in Mt. Victory for a special series of events including the garden tour, Independence Day celebrating, wine tastings, a painted chair challenge, fall pumpkin fun, a turkey trot & scarecrow contest, and our annual Christmas Open House. Shops will open and many will have specials not to be missed. Put 1st Saturdays on your calendar!

• Sat. June 3, GARDEN WALK ~ NOON – 5PM
Come tour 3 beautiful gardens in Mount Victory! Begin your tour at the Tea for Three Antiques Garden (behind Methodist Church) where you’ll buy your ticket ($10) and receive the tour map. Garden owners will answer questions and share garden ideas. Gardens are within walking distance of the antique shops that are open 10am ’til 5:00. Shops will feature garden-related items for sale. Gardens: 1) Tea for Three Antiques;  2) Park Place; and 3) Houchin’s Garden. Rain or shine. 

• Sat. July 1, STARS & STRIPES ~ 10AM – 5PM
Visit the Main & Taylor shops and celebrate the 4th of July with red, white, blue decorations and festive atmosphere. Come celebrate and shop with us! Sign up for raffle in participating shops. Lucky raffle winners will receive a wreath and flags. Enjoy special sales, music throughout the day, window displays, refreshments and special discounts for our veterans in participating shops. Watch for the Firecracker signs!

Sat. Aug. 5, SUMMER NIGHTS ~ 5PM – 8PM
Here’s a great excuse to take a break and truly enjoy a warm summer evening tasting wine from Bear Creek, Bokes Creek, Dalton Union, and Shamrock Wineries. Taylor Street will feature the winery selections, festive lighting, music and shops will feature their summer sales. Come enjoy a summer evening like its truly meant to be experienced. Participating shops open late!

Sat. Sept. 2, CHAIR CHALLENGE ~ 10AM – 5PM
The Chair Challenge is a contest open to the public for the best decorated old wooden chair! The chairs will be displayed up and down Main & Taylor street Aug 26 – Saturday Sept 2nd. Awards will be given including Best of Show winners will be chosen by the Mayor Sat. Sept 2. All chairs will auctioned off at 3pm and a portion of proceeds go to Hardin County Humane Society. Sat. Oct. 7, PUMPKIN FEST ~ 10AM – 5PM
Celebrate fall in Mount Victory with pumpkin painting for both kids AND adults, scarecrow contest, wagon hayrides, music, food, cider and festive fall atmosphere. Vintage and antique shops will feature their fall sales and shop owners welcome everyone to town to enjoy the fall weather. A pumpkin house will be on display in Henry Martin Park at Taylor & Main St., pumpkins will be for sale for your fall decorating.

Sat. Nov. 4, TURKEY TROT ~ 10AM – 5PM
Participants will love ‘trotting’ around town to the antique shops for prizes. Each shop will have tickets for customers to deposit into a turkey fryer at Tea for Three Antiques behind Methodist Church. At 3:00, a turkey call will sound and everyone will trot to Henry Martin Park for the drawing to win pumpkin pie, ham, turkey, gift cards, turkey callers and more! Fall fun! More details TBA.

Sat. & Sun., December 2 & 3, CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE ~ Sat. 10PM – 5PM, Sun. 12NOON – 5PM
Celebrate the season and find the unique gifts you won’t find elsewhere, all in a holiday atmosphere. Select shopkeepers will be in vintage dress, streets and shops will be decorated for the season. Special sales mean you’re sure to find that vintage treasure your bestie or family will love… or maybe you’ll just shop for yourself!
