MV Tree Committee Offers Memorial Trees
Dallas Parthemore of Mount Victory has given a donation to a tree fund in memory of his wife, Sandy. Various places around Mount Victory have been marked to receive a tree when funds are available. Anyone who would like to remember someone by giving to this fund, may contact Joan Wagner, Treas. CDA, 19468 Elliott Lane, Mt. Victory.
Trees cost about $60 and up, depending on the species. Donations can be received at any time of the year. Medium sized and large trees are needed mostly, as ten large hazardous trees were removed recently.
The Tree Committee is striving to have a variety and has an over abundance of maple and crabapple trees. Members of the Tree Commission have done various soil quality tests and have marked the tree inventory accordingly. This village committee will determine where donated trees are planted and which species can be planted in the tree lawn. They can give the donors three or four kinds of trees to choose from if desired.
A special way to recognize donor generosity is being worked out. More information is available by calling Barb Snyder at 937-354-2140 or Peggy Harrison at 937-354-3334.
For donations in honor or memory of someone in the service, a dog tag with information on it can hang from the tree you have donated in their memory or in recognition of their service. A form to fill out for this will be at the Post Office.
